Charmed Fashion Review: Glamory Hosiery

A couple of months ago I was on the hunt for a brand that offered quality plus-sized hosiery with a variety of style options.  Finding great hosiery is sort of a ritual for me once fall approaches because tights are among my favorite fall and winter accessories. Due to the tropical southern climate in which I live, I don’t have the luxury of being able to wear them year round. But I make up for it during the cooler months.

After shopping in-store at bunches of places and searching online to no avail, I made a Facebook post asking my friends if they knew of a brand. Of course, they all responded with the stores that I had already researched.  Not long after that post, I was offered the opportunity to review a product from Glamory Hosiery, a company that specializes in plus hosiery. In this product review, I will tell you a little about what I look for in a good pair of tights, general information about Glamory Hosiery, and the details of my experience with their product.  Disclaimer: I was given a free item for this product review. Glamory Hosiery, a brand produced in Germany since 2005 that focuses on the plus size customer, is now available in America. Given that the average woman in the world has a dress size of 14, Glamory Hosiery offers fashionable legwear with the perfect fit for the everyday needs of women with refined tastes. At one time, this quality and fit was only available when you visited Europe. Now you do not have to compromise!
In all, we carry 46 different styles, 535 different individual products, and ten different color combinations. Silhouettes include thigh highs, stockings, pantyhose, knee highs, and hosiery for men, and all are offered in sizes Medium to 4XL (110 lbs to 340 lbs and 4’9” to 6’8”). “Hosiery Made in My Size” really is the case here! Women with fuller thighs and hips enjoy durable, very high quality hosiery that smooths and cinches bulges, won’t roll down, and many styles even energize and firm thighs.
Owner Timothy Gettler says, “We found Glamory at the end of a long, frustrating search for leg wear to fit my curvy, beautiful, 6’2” wife. After buying her many pairs of Glamory stockings and tights abroad, I realized how many women had the same struggles with hosiery as she did and decided to bring Glamory to the USA, where it has been a colossal hit!”

What I Wore 

Glamory Hosiery|Dune 70 tights

I wore Glamory’s Dune 70 tights in size 2XL. Price $27. The size chart on the website suggested that, based on my height and weight, I would fall under size XL. I wanted to be certain that they weren’t too small, so I ordered the 2XL.  The chart was right, lol.  I could have gone down a size. The packaging also includes very helpful sizing information.
​Here’s product description for the Dune 70 pattern: argyle pattern, opaque tights, matte effect, has an extra wide brief and thigh area. They are described as being very comfortable to wear and featuring flat seams, a reinforced panty and toe.

My Experience 

I wore the Glamory Dune 70 tights on a busy Saturday that included lots of shopping and running errands followed by a trip to my local art gallery during the evening.  Two of the most important qualities that I desire in tights are comfort and quality.  The tights are very soft to the touch yet sturdy. I put them on with ease. I wore a one piece body shaper under them, and the tights did not roll down throughout the day.  The tights made it through my hectic day with no runs or tears. 
The argygle pattern is a very pretty design and can be worn with a variety of  outfits.  This particular item met all of my wishes for a great pair of tights. The item is reasonably priced at $27. 

Overall, Glamory Hosiery offers a variety of options for curvy women-ranging from socks to tights to anti-chafing bands. The company also offers hosiery for men and little people. The Dune 70 tights will continue to be in my fall/winter wardrobe rotation, and I look forward to adding other styles. 

What I Will Try Next

I was excited to see that the company offers a cotton glove that you can wear while putting on your hosiery. This prevents snags and runs.  I have long nails and, unfortunately, I have torn more than a few pairs of tights before even getting to wear them.  The Glamory Glove is priced at a very affordable $8.00!
