Social media is good for many things, including connecting us with others who we may not have the opportunity to meet in our normal daily routine. As I was scrolling through Facebook one night, I came across a friend’s post about a company that creates coloring books featuring natural hair. I had to know about this company! I went to coilyencounters.com and ordered my coloring book that same night. My daughter (who’s 16) and I have truly enjoyed coloring the pages of Color Me Coily with our Crayola Multicultural Coloring Pencils. You can order those on the website, too! I am the creator of Color Me Coily, a natural hair coloring book. I've always loved being creative. So what's a creative to do? Create More! Inspired by On Saturdays, I spend time with my nephew. We were coloring in a pirate coloring book. I noticed he was coloring his pirate as a black person. I asked him, why are you coloring the pirate, black? He said, I want him to look like me. I thought to myself, I want something to color that looks like me, too. Products Offered Color Me Coily is an adult coloring book that focuses on natural hair. We have line art and mandala (small intricate details). The books comes in two sizes. We have a full size book that is 8*11 and a purse size which is a 6*9. Full size book comes with a set of Crayola Multi-Cultural pencils. We also have those for sale on our website. Color Me Coily, Celebrates various aspects of natural hair, not just fros. We have locs, loc updos and braided styles. Proud Accomplishments Other than birthing the most handsome son ever, I would say it is launching a business that I enjoy. What’s Up Next?
