What’s Christmas without a few live performances? I love ballet and theater, and wish that I had more opportunities to enjoy the arts. It’s one of the things that I make sure to fit in during the holidays. I can recall participating in a production of the Nutcracker while in middle school, and I fell in love with it. Over the years, I have witnessed many, many renditions of the Nutcracker and it never gets old. This year I am planning to see two versions of this legendary ballet! When: Saturday, November 21, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Where: Patriot Hall, 135 Haynsworth St. Sumter, SC 29150 For tickets call the Columbia City Ballet at (803)799-7605 The Hip Hop Nutcracker (see dates above) Where: Blumenthal Performing Arts Center, 130 N. Tryon St., Charlotte NC 28202 For Tickets: CLICK HERE The Color Purple is my favorite movie of all time. I was so excited at the idea of it being transformed into a Broadway play. I really, really want to see it. All I want for Christmas is three tickets (for the kiddos and me) to the Broadway play. Here's the current cast: The Color Purple on Broadway For performance dates, ticket information, reviews and more information, CLICK HERE. I will be sure to post about the great performances that I am sooo looking forward to enjoying. You all will certainly hear from me if I am fortunate enough to get tickets to The Color Purple! I definitely plan to make my way there, probably around Spring/Summer. I haven't spent time in NYC since childhood.

The Color Purple on Broadway will be outstanding!!! I love musicals! I'm looking forward to my holiday family tradition of attending the Spelman-Morehouse Glee Club Holiday Concert. This officially kicks off our Christmas season. That night after the concert, the entire family puts the tree up, trim it all while Christmas music is playing.
